Daily Inspiration: Dedicated to all Mothers

Good morning! How's your week so far? I have been so busy with reports here and there. Yesterday, we went to our Inoza Plant for an emergency meeting on HACCP program. It was tiring but when I got home and received a big hug (Matt taught from Teletubbies, his new addiction) and a kiss from Matt, all just gone like magic. At night, Daddy and I worked on our crocheting projects. Hopefully we can finished the MTOs due this week because orders keep on coming. God is indeed great.

Let's move to our Love Inspiration for today that is for all the mothers like me.

I Love Sundays: Mommy Maye's Day

I am just a mom of barely two years and I am learning and I am doing my best so I could raise my son well. Motherhood is a big challenge for every woman. It all started when you conceive your baby. All the pain and hardship that comes with the pregnancy are part of being a mother. We endure those and even sacrifice our own self to give way for a new baby. Then in giving birth we risk our life to make sure the baby will be safely delivered.

My labor pain was not that severe, I just felt heavy pressure on my hips and nothing more. In fact, I was still texting while I was in the labor room. I did my best to have a normal delivery and even at 10 cm, my son won’t come out so after more two hours of struggling, my OBG decided to do the C-Section. My OBG said sayang because I am so behave and did not cry or shout while pushing but that is life. At that moment, all I am thinking is the safety of my baby so left with no choice, we gave in.

That event changes my life forever. Seeing my son for the best time relieves all the pain, tiredness and worries I had. And I knew then that it was just the beginning and there are lot more to come.

My motherhood experience is not all sweet. The first problem I have encountered is breastfeeding. I do my best breastfeed my son but since I only had my milk after a week of giving birth, I fed him formula milk. He won’t feed through my breast after experiencing bottle feeding first. But still I breastfed him for three months and even manually pumped milk from mine.

Next problem was who will take care of him after my leave from work. It very hard to leave pala your baby after two months of being together.  But I sacrificed my own feeling because I know I need to do this for him. I need to work to help Daddy and to buy him all the things he needs.

I know moms can relate how your world will turn upside down whenever your child is sick even with a slight fever. Good thing my son is not masakitin and recovers fast. He seldom got colds and cough. I think he had cough only once for almost two years of his life.

But even how much you take care, accident can’t be avoided. I already wrote about my worst day and it said it all. It was really painful and seeing the photos from that incident makes me cry still. We have learned from it and God is really good that He does not allow even worst thing to happen.

After what had happened, I questioned myself? Did I really need to work and leave my child? What if another accident happened? I cannot take it! I try to look for online or home based work so I could stay home. I even ask my husband to transfer our house loan to Pag-ibig so we are not forced to pay high monthly amortization. Those reactions and feelings are normal I know so we keep on praying to God for I know He has a better plan for us.

Almost two months after that day, which happened to be Daddy Allan’s birthday, you almost cannot see the marks left from the burn on Matt’s cheek and chest. We search for all the medicine that could erase those marks and luckily it succeeded.

My son sleeping with wounds still fresh :(

It is a painful photo of my son with his wounds already drying up.

Here is my son with almost no trace of the burn marks.
Motherhood indeed is a roller coaster ride. One moment you are up, high and happy, and then with just a turn you are down and in pain. But I never regret being a mom because it is the best experience I can ever write about. I will never be a blogger if I am not a mother now. I am better me now because of my son and my husband.

I am too far from a perfect mom but I know for my little son I am the best mom!

Mother's Day 2012: My Best Nanay

Last night, I suddenly not feel well. Could it be because of I commute yesterday and it was so hot. Allan was at our feed mill in Tarlac City for the ISO Surveillance Audit so I have no choice but to take public utility vehicle and our home was 4 rides from our feed mill. In addition to the stress is Matt is having a watery stool but according to his tita yaya, it's not that frequent naman although his stomach is bloated. Good thing he doesn't vomit like two nights ago. He doesn't used to hot weather talaga at super nakakastress talaga. So Igive him a BRAT diet again and Erceflora. He had this almost same experience last year.

So I wake up with a heavy feeling and as much as I want to stay at home and take a rest, I can’t because today is reporting day. Besides, I can never have a rest at home especially when Matt is around and knows I am at our bedroom. He will make kulit for sure and will press my eyes when he sees them close. He will bang his head on my head when I will not get up. I don’t know where he got that. I do hope this heavy feeling of mine will pass soon because I hate it when I am off limit to my son.

Anyways, Mothers’ day is almost here and we don’t have plan yet how to celebrate it. Maybe it will be the usual Sunday where we go to Church and go malling after. I’m sure there are lot of Mothers’ day promos at malls.

I don’t talk about much of my family and my mother. My Nanay is a working mother like me. She’s been working in a government institution for more than 30 years and she will soon retire on August this year. I feel relieve when she told be she’s having her retirement because all her life she is working hard. She came from a poor family from the Aparri Cagayan and went to Manila when she was just 17 to work and took a vocational course in dress making. Luckily, his brother got her to work at CLSU as a Dormitory Houseparent.

She’s been there for more than 30 years so you could just imagine how many students she had managed. What was really touching is those students she had handled came back after many years with their children entrusting them to my mom.

My Nanay is never showy to us and I never hear her complain about her life. We grew up in a family where the phrase “I love you” is not common. We are not showy of how we feel towards each other but we surely love each other. Our family has been tested so many times, conflict among relatives, siblings, etc. You can hear nothing from my mother. Until now, she remains mysterious to me. All I know is she is a good mother to us and all her flaws are beautiful in my eyes.

So now, that I am a mother too, I understand her more. I understand the fact that we need to sacrifice some things to raise our son. I love being a mom and I know for sure she loves seeing me as a mother now. I am more expressive than before and that I will pass to my son. I want him to be more expressive of what he feels toward things and us too.

To my Nanay, I know you will not be able to read this now but I want you to know that I love you so much and if ever God will let me have a second life, I will still choose you as my mother. You are not the perfect mom I know, but for me you are the best mother. I thank God for giving you to us. I LOVE YOU and Happy Mother’s Day Nay!
Happy Mother's Day too to my sister Fevy.
Whew, that’s all I can tell about my best Nanay. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mommies out there!

P.S.: My son Matthew was featured by Mommy Fleur in her This Kid Is It segment. Thanks Mommy Fleur and Happy Mother's Day!

Rainy Sunday with My Two Boys

Been busy for the pass weeks that is why weekend (especially Sunday) is the most anticipated day of the week. Unfortunately, it was raining hard and the weather is a "bed weather" indeed.

So after breakfast, me, hubby and our little son Matt, went back to our bedroom and made "kulitan". After kulitan, we fell asleep.

I thought it was already night when I looked at our window. It was still raining and still gloomy outside. Since Matt was already up and soaking wet, I decided to went down stairs and clean up Matt.

I went to Matt's room and saw his milk can is almost empty. So I told my husband we should buy milk. We dressed up and go out, in the middle of the rain. Unluckily, our car's tire got pricked with a spring so we have to bring the car to nearest vulcanizing shop.

So after vulcanizing the tire, we went straight to SM Marilao. We do window shopping first. We look for what to buy for Christmas so next week it will be easier to shop. Then we passed by here:

Even for just awhile, Im sure our son have enjoyed it. Our little time with him every weekend is so precious. His smile always makes me smile, even when I can't see it.

Look at him, isn't he's a cutie pie with two little dimples?

I love this boy so much and I don't know why! :)

FAN OF THE WEEK @MCP

Last October 25, 2011, I was featured as FAN OF THE WEEK of MomCenter Philippines.

How to be a FAN OF THE WEEK? It is just so simple. First like MomCenter Philippines. Join in the discussions, help other moms who needs advice. Be your self and help with all your heart. Helping other moms is what I really like. Sharing what I know, though not a much experienced mom, is very inspiring especially if your informations and advice are appreciated. A simple like or thank you will do. But what really matters at the end of the day is the lessons and knowlegde we learn from different moms. Funny even we do not see each other, we talk as if we knew each other. The daily discussions bond us together.

Though a little late to post here, I just want to tag in another experience in my cyber life as a mommy blogger.

Thank you MCP for providing a venue for us mommies!
