Matthew's Recognition Day 2019

I know its' been 2 months but I can not let it not shared with you.

Here's my chubby cheeks showing his McDonald's Happy Meal toy.

That was his reward for getting these awards.

I didn't tell you but he represented his school to a Spelling bee contest and for another Tula contest.

Though he didn't won, being chosen to represent his school was already a big honor for him. He is a a creative thinker and an excellent reader, which makes him a winner.

And not only that, he's a consistent honor student.

Which makes me and his daddy very proud.

How can we not be proud of him?

Kahit makulit sya, he still excels in his class.

When it's study time, he never give me a hard time.

He loves studying and he loves Mommy.

Would like to thank his school for always believing in him.

To his adviser who never get tired of teaching and guiding him and his classmates.

To his Lolo Papa na always to the rescue when there's no one to take care of him.

What is more admirable of this boy is his simplicity. Kain lang sa favorite nyang McDonald's happy na sya.

Because he got to finally taste this  McDonald's Chicken Katsu he's been craving since he saw it on TV.

McDonald's, Chicken Katsu

To our little boy, let me remind you that it's not the medal that gives you honor. It's your character and personality that matters most. Just continue to shine and be the best that you can be. Always remember that we are here to support and love you always.

Teaching Kids To Be A Leader

Last July, our little boy was chosen to be one of the two Grade 3 representatives for their school council election. I was surprised so I asked the school admin if it's true. He said yes so true nga, hehe.

Even we're still in doubt, we supported his campaign. I made bookmarks and we bought some candies for him to give on their campaign day.

I also designed a tarpaulin for him. Daddy have it printed, 2 for each design.

The tarpaulins were posted at his school gate and fences.

Actually, I never experience running for any position when I was studying. I was very shy back then, the exact opposite of our little who is full of confidenc. He can speak in front of people. Hindi na kailangang pilitin pa, hehe. In fact, everyone knows him.

Unfortunately, he lost in the election. But our little boy didn't loss his spirit. Like what he said before he run for the election, "Kahit naman po matalo ako mommy okay lang e. Atleast lumaban ako."

That made me even prouder. This little boy is such a sport and is growing to be a true leader. That must be the reason why he was chosen, aside from his charm.

And just recently, he was chosen again to join the team building activity organized by the school. Nagpaalam agad sya sabay sabi no parents allowed. Ha, ano daw? I told him, he is just 8 years and still our baby so he can't join alone. He refuted that by saying he's a big boy and he can take care of his self. He was really determined that when he acted like a baby I will remind him about joining the team building activity and then he will act like a big boy, haha.

After days of thinking, we signed the waiver and let him join their school's team building.

O hindi ba, prepared na prepared sya. Halos hindi nga nakatulog sa sobrang excitement. He bought his Robby Rabbit back pack na saktong sakto for his packed snacks and lunch, and extra shirts, pants, and towels. He also bought 2-liter water and 2 bottles of iced tea.

They left the school at around 7:30 in the morning and went to Quezon City Circle with all the school teachers and staffs.

They spent the whole day there doing team building activities.

I am happy I did allow him to join because I can't remember how many times he said "Mommy sobrang nag-enjoy po ako."

And most of all, I am happy because his school is teaching these kids to be a leader, our future leader. Who knows this little boy will be the future president of our country? Charot! Just look how cute he is na lang, haha.

Matthew Andrei's Recognition Day 2018

Hi everyone! How's your weekends? Had a very productive one with Daddy A. But oh, Monday na naman. Monday blues it is right?

Anyway, would just like to share this moment in our little boy's life that makes us really proud as his parents. Medyo late post lang because of the busyness these past months, weeks, and days, haha.

So ayun nga, our little makes us proud again. Despite of being hyper and talkative, our little boy is a hard worker.

In fact, he also won in their school spelling contest during their English fair.

And this year he was awarded with honors and best in penmanship.

He also received two character awards, most active and most honest. His best in penmanship and most honest award are unexpected for us. Being best in penmanship really showed he worked hard in school because at his age, alam nyo naman not all can write well. And of course, the most honest award meant a lot for a mom like me. It means I am raising an honest kid.

On his recognition day, both of us attended and took a leave from work.

Recognition day is a harvest time for hard working kids and a rewarding time for parents. We parents look forward on this day when we can show the world how proud we are to have a smart kid.

It's a job well done for our son and of course to his dear teacher/adviser.

Again, we are proud of this little boy.

But wait, I was again surprise to see his report card.

The report card is given na after the recognition and I don't expect he will have high grades on his fourth grading period. Hindi na kasi namin nakikita ang final exam results nila and he had low exam score in Math during his fourth mastery. But look he had a grade of 93 in Math pa and and his observe values are all always observed na.

Truly, this little boy deserved all the rewards he wanted.

I am really proud not just for the award, honors or medals our little boy received. But for the hard work this little boy gave in all his school years. He never fail to make us proud in little or big ways. Like what I always say, we are here to give him all the love and support he will need in his journey to become the best man he can be.

A Breezy Trip To Tagaytay Highlands

Here's the second part of Matthew's annual educational field trip.

After our quick trip to Nuvali, we went to Tagaytay Highlands where we had a snack at the Summer Garden at Highlands China Place.

We had some photos taken inside.

And this great view outside.

I was just wondering why it's called summer garden when it's really cold and was even raining that day.

Anyway, just a few distance away, there's an Animal Farm that is a petting zoo and home to miniature animals from different parts of the world.

Here's Matthew with Llamas.

With the Parrot.

Who by the way greeted us "Hello".

And another parrot with Daddy and Matthew. Matthew was afraid kaya si Daddy A na lang nagcarry ng bird.

There are rabbits too.
