Types of Talent That Are Sure to Shake Up Any Party

Types of Talent That Are Sure to Shake Up Any Party

Every party needs some entertainment to keep the crowd going and having fun.  Unfortunately, if you don't plan, you could end up with entertainment that's sadly one-note.  It's okay to shake things up and have fun, though!  If you want to surprise others and aren't afraid to get a little strange: these are the best talent-based performances to surprise any crowd.

Drag Queens

Drag queens have been in popular media for almost sixty years: and they're not going anywhere!  These performers with larger-than-life personalities are sure to raise the spirits at any event they perform at.  Talk to them ahead of time and find out if they are more into mingling and having fun with guests or if they'd be willing to do a musical performance.  Every drag performer is different, so talk to them before hiring them to make sure they suit what you need.

Celebrity Impersonators

Like drag queens, celebrity impersonators can bring life into a party!  You can even find performers who are drag celebrity impersonators! So whether you want Marilyn Monroe to sing happy birthday to your husband or your mom wants Elvis at her birthday party, you can find impersonators for nearly any celebrity in every major city.

Belly Dancers

If you’re considering looking at belly dancers for hire: you're creating a party people are going to remember for life!  Whether they're cultural or entertainment-only dancers, these performers use their bodies and music to entrance partygoers and raise spirits.  If you want them to perform a specific piece or do particular dances, it's important to contact them ahead of time and ask what they're willing to do!

Acrobats and Contortionists

Although these are two very different performers, they’re being listed together because they both wow and amaze crowds with the severe training and work they’ve put their bodies through.  Acrobats are awesome because they can move through the air and on land like fish in water, and contortionists will bend your perception of what the human body can do!  These performers work hard at their craft and would shock and amaze any partygoers you invited.

Illusionists

Although illusionists are often confused with magicians, they have very different places in the industry.  An illusionist can use sleight of hand to trick and surprise guests while inspiring their imagination and getting their hearts racing.  Every illusionist is different, specializing in anything from modern illusions to more classic magic and performances.

Regardless of what type of performer you hire, going off the beaten path is a lot of fun!  Try to start looking for acts as early as possible so you can make sure that the performer you want is still available when your party happens.  If you're not sure how the party will receive them, make sure for the performer's safety that you announce that they'll be there.  A negative reaction to a drag queen or a belly dancer can be tragic for everyone involved.

Above all: have fun at your party!  Find talent that can excite your guests and get them talking about this event for years to come.

Matthew Andrei's 6th Birthday

Last Thursday, June 16, our Matthew Andrei celebrated his 6th birthday. Compared to previous years (Check these posts: Matthew Andrei's DIY Spiderman Party, Matthew Andrei's 4th Birthday), we decided to not have a party at home. As you already know, we had been in difficult situations the past weeks and there’s a huge financial expenses that comes with it.

But God is so great, he blessed us with financial opportunities that we were able to organize a mini party at his school ( as he wish to have). I made this personalized Iron Man invitation I saw here.

Iron Man Invitation

The night before that, Daddy and I were both busy. Daddy is baking little cupcakes.

While I am trying to finish this bulk order we received.

We planned to wake up really early the next day. But because late na kami nakatulog medyo nalate na din ng gising. We started to work on the party bento. Daddy cooked the chicken balls and hotdog, while I cooked the macaroni and spaghetti sauce for the baked macaroni. Kami lang kasing dalawa and that’s another reason why we don’t have party at home. Unlike the previous years when my in laws or my sister will came over to help us with the party.

Before anything else, here's the birthday boy before he went to school that morning.

He chose that red polo shirt. Magre-red daw sya and I don't know from whom he got the idea na magred kapag birthday, hehe.

Anyway, we prepared bento meals na lang. Initially, Iron Man theme sana but since we were busy hindi na kami nakagawa ng Iron Man face to put over the baked macaroni.

Okay din naman, they look good at least for me. Hehe.

The bento meal includes baked macaroni, chicken balls, cocktail hotdogs with marshmallow (as requested by Matthew), mini cupcake, a cup of chocolate ice gem and a lollipop.

I designed and printed out this sticker.

Nice na J

We rushed to his school na malapit lang sa amin and I can hear Matthew calling us already. Medyo nalate kami ni Daddy e. Some of his classmates were already eating biscuits na. Nonetheless, our little boy was so happy when they sang the Happy Birthday song.

He happily had some photo with his classmates.

Wish granted!

We bought party hats and balloons too. Kaya lang we didn’t give the hats na since they still have class after. Also, Daddy had not finished with the balloons yet. Sabi ko after class na lang distribute ang balloons. His classmates were so happy when they receive the balloons. There’s a mom saying pa daw, “Andun sa si Matthew pinagkakaguluhan!” Haha!

When he went home, we gave him this Iron Man mask.

We told him to sleep before we will give this second gift. Kaya lang he refused to sleep. Excited siguro.

Then that night, we had a mini dinner at home. Of course, his birthday will never be completed without a cake from Red Ribbon.

I told him to make a wish first before blowing the candle. I asked him what’s his wish, he said “Sana po matupad ang wish ko!” Ahahahaha! Oo nga naman…

Matthew was so delighted. Especially when he received this from his Tita Mare.

And this watch from Papa and Mama.

We were also happy that we made his day extra special even without throwing a big party. I am glad that our little boy appreciates anything you give him. Big or small, expensive or inexpensive happy na sya by just receiving gifts from people.

Anak, please always remember that we love you. Don't be afraid to explore the world and show everyone who you are. I am happy and also sad at the same knowing you are growing to be a very independent boy. Still, you can't sleep without me at your side. But I know that will not take long so I will cherish every moment of this.

Thank you Lord for keeping our little boy always healthy and happy. May he grow to be a man of God.

Again happy birthday Anak! Continue to shine...

Matthew Andrei's DIY Spiderman Party

Our son had a blast on his 5th birthday. We started his day with this surprise.

The little boy who was crying because he woke up alone in our bedroom instantly smile seeing this. We needed to wake up early so we can prepare for his mini party at school, a DIY Spiderman party. This was the first time he celebrated his birthday at school so we were surprised how hyperactive these little kids are, and that includes Matthew :)

Happy 4th Birthday Matthew Andrei!

June 16 will always be a special day for us. As God gave us one of the greatest blessings in our life, Matthew Andrei who turns 4 today. And it's not just his birthday because today another milestone in his life will happen.

Today is his first day in school and it's official! Our dear little Matthew Andrei is a school boy! Oh how time flies! He can do most of the chores on his own and it makes me smile and feel sad at the same time. I'm happy to see him growing independently, smart, active and healthy. But it also makes me feel sad that sooner, he will have his own world outside our home. I just always pray that he will remember all the lessons we are teaching him and also he can learn on his own. Because I can never be happier seeing him to be a successful, respectful good man.

Oh, I know it's just his 4th birthday so I still have years with him before he can live on his own independently. So please help me greet this smart, happy boy!

Do It Yourself: Mickey Mouse Party Hat

Today I will share with you how to make your own Mickey Mouse Party hat. If you don't have time to make you can buy it at Toy Kingdom at PhP 69.++ for 6 pieces. I find this expensive so I decided to just do it myself.

Materials:

Cartolina (black, choose the glossy and thick one) - PhP 17.00
Carolina (red) - PhP 8.00
Glue
Scissor
Mickey Mouse head pattern

How to do it:

Print the pattern below and paste in a folder.

Trace this pattern on back side of the black cartolina.

Cut them.
